Expert Opinion: Coronavirus Will Exacerbate Existing Health Inequities
Disaster Resilience Leadership Academy faculty member Dr. Amy Lesen provides a guest column for The Advocate on how coronavirus will exacerbate existing health inequities. Dr. Lesen is also a Research Associate Professor at Tulane's ByWater Institute and an Associate Professor and researcher in the Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Center at Dillard University.
"We are very likely to see disproportionate numbers of poor people and people of color get sick and die from COVID-19 in New Orleans and Louisiana — and across our nation," says Dr. Lesen.
