Publication: Considering the conceptualizations of racism-based trauma among social workers

Dr. Samantha Francois, TSSW faculty member and Executive Director of Tulane's Violence Prevention Institute, and Dr. Curtis Davis, an alum of Tulane's City, Culture & Community program and faculty at University of Southern Mississippi School of Social Work, have published "Lifting the veil: Considering the conceptualizations of racism-based trauma among social workers" in the Qualitative Social Work journal. This qualitative study, utilizing the narratives of 13 social workers, was the first to question how social workers, in the role of justice system advocates, engage with the construct of racism-based trauma experienced by the incarcerated person.
