As part of an interdisciplinary team, DSW Program Director Dr. Tonya Hansel, recent MSW graduate Ariana O'Shea, and DSW alumna Dr. Serena Chaudhry published "Psychosis, Telehealth, and COVID-19: Successes and Lessons Learned from the First Wave of the Pandemic" with Dr. Ashley Weiss and Grinasha Dillon of the Early Psychosis Intervention Clinic New Orleans (EPIC-NOLA) and Tulane University School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry. Their article in the Disaster Medicine and Public Health Preparedness journal is a brief report analyzing a first-episode psychosis (FEP) clinic’s shift from in-person treatment to the provision of services through telemental health during the COVID-19 pandemic. They assessed client engagement as a way of examining the feasibility of using this technology.
