The goal for the Center for Lifelong Learning is to raise the standard of social work services for our Louisiana and Gulf South Communities. We do this by offering premiere training opportunities and yearly free trainings.
Social work continuing education is a vital component of the profession's competency and ethical values. Throughout their careers, social workers must continue building their knowledge and skills to better empower the individuals, families, groups, and communities they serve. TSSW knows transformation, personal growth, and professional development isn't limited to those engaging in our graduate level degree-seeking programs. Our Center for Lifelong Learning (CLL) facilitates social work continuing education units (CEUs) for our entire community throughout the year. We offer mental health professionals a diverse collection of continuing education opportunities for CEUs.
What is a Social Work CEU?
A CEU (Continuing Education Unit) is a standard unit of credit that licensed social workers must earn to keep their professional licenses active and valid. Think of CEUs as a professional tune-up. Just like medical professionals, social workers are required by law to engage in ongoing learning after graduation. This ensures they stay sharp, up-to-date on new regulations, and equipped with the latest evidence-based practices to support their clients.
