Health & Wellness

Tulane Campus Health, located in Room 261 of our Elk Place Building, offers a wide variety of services and initiatives:

  • The Health Center for Student Care is committed to providing comprehensive quality health services and support in a compassionate manner. A holistic approach to the patient as a student in an academic community setting facilitates the best care to every individual through an integrated clinical practice. 
  • The Counseling Center is committed to providing developmentally appropriate mental health services both in the office setting and as outreach, along with consultative support throughout Tulane University. They also offer virtual mental health services.
  • The Well for Health Promotion is committed to providing the infrastructure for constant engagement in the health promotion process. Health Promotion initiatives enable people to increase control over, and to improve, their health by engaging a wide range of social and environmental interventions that impact both the community and the individual.

For students seeking off-campus employment, Handshake offers a variety of tools to help you on your professional journey. 

Get Started with Handshake:

  1. Log in to Handshake. Use your Tulane ID and password and log in to the Handshake Portal. 
  2. Fill out your profile. Some of your information will already be in your Handshake profile. Check to be sure all information is correct and fill out the remainder. Take the career interests survey to optimize your job search. Be sure to add "Social Work" under the "major" section of your profile.
  3. Upload a document. You will want to have a public resume available in Handshake for employers to see. 
  4. Go to the Jobs page and filter for the type of job you're seeking. A few Job Role options that may suit you are Child, Family, and School Social Workers, Healthcare Social Workers, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Social Workers, and Miscellaneous Social Workers.
  5. Follow jobs and employers you are interested in. When you follow an employer or a job, you will automatically start receiving information about the company or job so you will not miss out on updates or new opportunities.

Any member of the Tulane community can report, anonymously or not, incidents or concerns about individuals or groups. Type of concerns include academic concerns, behavioral concerns, bias/discrimination, complaints, accessibility, health or safety, and Title IX among others.
