Students that attend in-person classes at TSSW will have the privilege of learning in a 20,000+ square foot building that was erected in 1917 as the headquarters for Lodge No. 30 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and was renovated for TSSW in 2014. That renovation received the prestigious Louisiana Landmarks Society Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation.
The space has an open feel, is full of light and allows students to flow easily from one room to another. It balances design, safety and security with user need, program and institutional identity, while providing an inviting learning, teaching and collaboration environment.
In addition, the TSSW campus building is ADA compliant and holds a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. LEED is the world's most widely used green building rating system. LEED certification provides a framework for healthy, highly efficient, and cost-saving green buildings, which offer environmental, social and governance benefits.
