Biography
DeLyndia Green-Laughlin earned her PhD in 2012 at Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. After practicing for several years as a Registered Nurse in the New Orleans area her clinical and teaching awareness inspired her interest in research. Dr. Green-Laughlin was appointed Clinical Nurse Educator at the New Orleans VA and led simulations designed to mitigate risk to patients and staff by identifying gaps in processes prior to the activation of the outpatient tower. Using the best evidence to guide the scenarios while working with the outpatient specialty teams her interest in research and use of the best evidence in practice continued. Currently, she works as a Community Manager providing support to researchers globally who conduct systematic reviews. Her research interests are Mental Health, Multi-Race Families, Community, COVID-19, and Remote Work/Education. Dr. Green-Laughlin’s expertise rests in Qualitative Research, Evidence Based Practice and Nursing Theory. She is currently a member of a Phenomenology Research Group who provides professional consultation to PhD students across disciplines in their final stages of their research. Dr. Green-Laughlin is also a Trustee for the Neuman Systems Model where she has had the opportunity to present her work in Canada and the Netherlands. She also provides consultation to students utilizing the model to guide their research. She currently teaches at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in the Undergraduate and Graduate School of Nursing.
