Biography

Candice Sorapuru, LCSW-BACS has over 20 years of professional Social Work Experience. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of New Orleans and a Master of Social Work from Tulane University School of Social Work. During the span of her career, she has worked in many areas of the Social Work field including Case Management, Geriatrics, Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Criminal Justice, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Employee Assistance Programs, Private Practice, and Administration. She is a generalist clinical practitioner with an emphasis on the treatment of children, adolescents, and families. She is trained and/or certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Triple P Positive Parenting Program, Pediatric Behavioral Therapy for OCD, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Moral Reconation Therapy, and Client-Centered Play Therapy. She is the Co-Founder and Director of Clinical Services of Innovative Approaches Counseling Center, LLP located in the River Parishes. She is also a Clinical Consultant for the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office, Day Reporting Center. Mrs. Sorapuru has presented on the local, state, and national levels on a variety of topics. She is a native New Orleanian and a married mother of 3.
