Joe Vega

Biography

Joe Vega, LCSW-BACS, earned his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University, where he majored in psychology and sociology. He began his career as a care manager for immigrant youth and families in New Jersey, which inspired him to pursue a Master of Social Work degree from Tulane University (TSSW 2007).

In private practice, Joe employs a strengths-based psychodynamic perspective, helping his clients increase awareness and understanding of themselves to improve their quality of life. Before entering private practice, Joe spent 15 years working in non-profit, community-based organizations, providing clinical services as a licensed clinical social worker.

Joe is a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor for Master’s level Social Workers and is working towards a Veterinary Social Work Certificate. His interest in veterinary social work focuses on human-animal relationships, emphasizing animal-related grief and bereavement.

Outside of work, Joe is more than just a professional. He's an avid tennis player, an artist at heart, and a loving husband and pet parent.
