Biography
Julie Balasalle is a 2009 graduate of TSSW and a passionate social work policy advocate. After graduating from TSSW, she spent three and a half years at the National Association of Social Workers, Massachusetts Chapter as the Government Relations and Political Action Associate where she lobbied extensively on social justice and professional social work issues. From NASW-MA she joined SEIU Local 509 in Massachusetts as an Organizer for independent mental health professionals and continued advocacy efforts for increased mental health access in Massachusetts. She then worked at the United Nations Association in Canada as a Project Officer working to increase youth social entrepreneurship. Currently, she is a Policy Analyst for the Canadian Credit Union Association in Atlantic Canada, where one of her interests is the community impact of credit unions in the region.
