Biography
Lisanne Brown has an MPH and PhD in Epidemiology from Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She is currently the Director of Evaluation at the Louisiana Public Health Institute (LPHI) and oversees the evaluations of all LPHI programs including the Gulf Regional Health Outreach Program (GRHOP) which was created as part of the Deepwater Horizon Medical Benefits Class Action Settlement. Dr. Brown has more than 20 years’ experience conducting applied public health research and program evaluation in several disaster settings including the Gulf Coast of the US and Sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to Joining LPHI, Dr. Brown's work focused on reproductive health and HIV and AIDS programs in developing countries where she conducted a number of studies on the effects of HIV on health well-being. Working with stakeholders at local and national levels, results from Dr. Brown's research have been used to improve programs and develop evidenced-based policies.
