Kelly “Ked” Dixon Waterman is a graduate of the 2010 part time class of the Tulane School of Social Work. She became an LCSW in 2014 after working as a Housing Coordinator and Medical Case Manager for NO/AIDS Task Force. In addition to teaching at TSSW, Ked is employed as a Behavioral Health Therapist at CrescentCare in New Orleans. Ked helped developed the Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health program, and currently maintains the Play Therapy clinic at CrescentCare. Ked is a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor for Master’s level Social Workers, is an EMDRIA certified therapist in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and is currently working on becoming a Registered Play Therapist. Ked has worked to develop playful interventions specific to the GLBTQAI+ population and their families, and has focused on transgender youth in her work. Ked is also an consultant with the BACH Group of New Orleans, where she develops continuing education for professionals in Ethics. She recently begame a Registered Play Therapist with The Association for Play Therapy.
When she’s not working, Ked enjoys distance running and spending time with her son, Jack.
