Biography

William Bertrand has worked at Tulane in multiple areas of public health and development since 1967. He pioneered the use of information technology in field studies and the importance of information technology in public health research and education. His recent work is focused on integrating surveillance systems, evaluation information systems, and implementation science as sources of knowledge management for development and public health. His recent projects include certifying and measuring child labor in West Africa, and supporting institutional development and learning systems at the American University of Nigeria He is currently also serving as consultant to CDC work in Latin America on Zika and the United States Navy on intervention strategies for resistant malaria in Vietnam.
