Biography
Kelly “Ked” Dixon Waterman is a graduate of the 2010 part-time class of the Tulane School of Social Work. She became an LCSW in 2014 after working as a Housing Coordinator and Medical Case Manager for NO/AIDS Task Force. In addition to teaching at TSSW, Ked is employed as a Behavioral Health Therapist at CrescentCare in New Orleans. Ked helped develop the Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health program, and currently maintains the Play Therapy clinic at CrescentCare. Ked is a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor for Master’s level Social Workers, is an EMDRIA certified therapist in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and is currently working on becoming a Registered Play Therapist. Ked has worked to develop playful interventions specific to the GLBTQAI+ population and their families, and has focused on transgender youth in her work. Ked is also a consultant with the BACH Group of New Orleans, where she develops continuing education for professionals in Ethics. She recently became a Registered Play Therapist with The Association for Play Therapy.
When she’s not working, Ked enjoys distance running and spending time with her son, Jack.
