Serena Chaudhry, DSW, LCSW-BACS, MPH

Dr. Chaudhry is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Tulane University School of Medicine, Adjunct Professor at the Tulane School of Social Work and Clinical Director of the Early Psychosis Intervention Clinic New Orleans (EPIC-NOLA).

Dr. Chaudhry has spent the past two decades specializing in work with survivors of war trauma, human trafficking, domestic violence and, with people experiencing severe mental illness. She has worked both domestically and abroad, across public and private sectors, to provide direct services, organizational management and consultation. She is currently the Clinical Director of the Early Psychosis Intervention Clinic in New Orleans, Louisiana (EPIC-NOLA) where she provides direct clinical care and oversees research, training and public health education. Serena integrates cognitive behavioral therapy for psychosis (CBTp) with more holistic approaches to healing such as meditation, mindfulness, breath work and yoga; she has found the latter to be highly effective in cross-cultural sessions and with clients who struggle with social cognition.

Serena volunteers with Physicians for Human Rights and Luke's House Asylum Clinic providing psychological evaluations for asylum cases. Serena received her Master of Social Work and Public Health from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan in December 2001 and her Doctorate in Social Work from Tulane University in 2018.
