Biography
Dr. April Duncan obtained her Bachelors in Arts & Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia (2006), Masters of Social Work from Saint Louis University (2012), and received her Doctorate in Social Work at the University of Southern California (2021). She has a private practice in St. Louis and is the co-owner of St. Louis Play Therapy Institute, which provides play therapy training for educational and mental health professionals.
Dr. April is a racial trauma expert with experience integrating play therapy with Black youth across the lifespan in a variety of settings. Dr. April is the founder of BMH Connect, a for-profit organization focusing on using play therapy to help Black youth heal from racial trauma.
