Biography
Dr. Ingram has nearly 2 decades of direct social work experience in a variety of settings such as, but not limited to the following: child welfare (case management and foster care services), police crisis unit (crisis counseling), inpatient care management (complex discharge planning), in-home therapeutic services (intensive in-home), parenting groups (researched-based Substance Use Disorder prevention), outpatient substance use treatment (individual and group Cognitive Behavior Therapy), amongst other arenas. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addictions specialist, trained in CBT, return to use (relapse) prevention, motivational interviewing, and other interventions for consumers living with mental health and substance use disorders. In addition, trained in Critical Incident Stress Management and has provided dozens of debriefings and defusings to first responders and hospital staff. Dr. Ingram began working as a civilian in June 2023, for the United States Air Force’s Integrated Resilience division, as an Interpersonal Self-Directed Violence (ISDV) Prevention Program Evaluation Specialist.
A North Carolinian, who is passionate about advocacy for equitable care and distribution of resources to minorities and systemically oppressed populations, with an emphasis on eliminating anti-Black racism. Dr. Ingram received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Political Science from North Carolina Central University in 2002; Master of Social Work from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2004 (North Carolina Child Welfare Education Collaborative Scholar); and Doctor of Social Work from Tulane University in May 2022 (Interdisciplinary Minority Fellow). Dr. Ingram is an adjunct professor for Tulane University’s School of Social Work master’s level Diversity and Social Justice and Field Practicum and Seminar courses.
