Biography
Dr. Deslie Bonano-Broussard, DSW, LCSW-BACS, BCD, has been a Board-Certified Diplomat in Clinical Social Work since 2005 and earned Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist status in 2017. She earned a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1998 and a Doctor of Social Work degree from Tulane University in 2022. She is a board-approved clinical supervisor for Louisiana and a field supervisor for students at The University of Southern Mississippi and Grand Canyon University. She has diverse private practice experience and has treated mood disorders, autism, adoption and foster care issues, and trauma for over twenty- two years. She is also a Certified Yoga Teacher and a Certified Trauma-Informed Yoga Specialist. Her research scope includes pedagogical approaches and the effects of trauma- informed yoga. A recent publication was awarded the 2023 Field Educator prize for “Excellence in Field Education Scholarship.” In addition to clinical practice and research, Dr. Bonano-Broussard’s passion is educating aspiring social workers.
