Biography
Dr. Melton has over 23 years of interdisciplinary clinical experience in public health administration and psychotherapy. She is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and a Private Independent Practitioner (PIP) and has over nine years of graduate teaching experience. She received her Doctorate of Social Work from Tulane University and Master of Social Work from The University of Alabama.
Dr. Melton's research agenda is primarily influenced by her prior clinical work with chronic illnesses, such as HIV and HCV. She has co-authored several peer-reviewed manuscripts in health, public health, and social work journals. Her research foci are to publish clinical, translational, and applied research to help health professionals improve health outcomes and extend the life of those burdened with chronic illnesses.
