Biography

Timothy Davidson is currently the program coordinator for the Consortium for Emergent Disaster Resilience (CEDR) where he’s involved in community-based participatory research looking at how to remove barriers seen in disaster recovery programs. He's also a DRLA fellow/adjunct instructor teaching a class he helped design titled "Path to Funding: Grants, Research, and Community Engagement".

After receiving his master’s degrees, he was involved with the local Continuum of Care lead, UNITY, which seeks to end homelessness in New Orleans. There as a site supervisor, he oversaw various temporary transitional housing facilities. In addition to his work with CEDR, he's a PhD graduate and now a research fellow at Stellenbosch University, where he continues exploring the role of social workers in climate change and disasters. He also serves as one of the founding board members for the Ecosocial Commons, a nonprofit that focuses on bringing community knowledge, rigorous research, and policy know-how in the same room so the lived realities of communities can influence the policies that impact their communities.

Outside of his work, he’s a fly fishing and fly-tying enthusiast, loves seafood, and enjoys spending time with his family.
