Biography
A native of Mississippi, Dr. Valerie Gordon-Garofalo attended Ole Miss as an undergrad psychology major and received her MSW from the University of Southern Mississippi. Dr. Gordon-Garofalo earned her PhD from the University of Texas at Austin.
With over 30 years' experience as a social worker, her interests remain in clinical practice, group treatment, program evaluation and research on social work practice effectiveness, juvenile justice, and treatment of persons affected by HIV Disease and other chronic life-threatening illnesses. Dr. Gordon-Garofalo lives with her husband, two children, and family dog on the Northshore.
