DSW Candidate Shares Thoughts about Autism and Medicaid

Doctorate of Social Work Candidate Sean M. Inderbitzen, APSW authored "Autism and Medicaid: a Roadmap to Mental Health Services" for the Different Brains blog.

Sean is a behavioral health clinician who lives on the spectrum and provides consultation to other clinicians in advocating for more access to mental health services for people with autism. In this article, he describes Wisconsin’s Autism Mandate as an oppressive interpretation of federal legislation that is more focused on business than people with autism and their right to mental health services. It closes with practical recommendations for engagement to assist in moving Medicaid forward in any state.
