Virtual Elk Place Health Spot Panel: Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention

The Tulane University School of Social Work and its Student Government Association are pleased to present a special webinar for Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month. To share support resources for survivors and educate about prevention and advocacy strategies, "Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention" includes representatives from service organizations in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. The session is on Thursday, April 28 from noon to 1:30 pm CT via the Zoom webinar platform, and we welcome TSSW and Tulane students, faculty, staff, alumni, community partners, and the public to attend. Registration is required below.

Register here.

Panelists include:

  • Javonda Nix, Advocacy Director for Sexual Trauma Awareness & Response (STAR)
  • Kelli Knight, Outreach Coordinator for Louisiana Foundation Against Sexual Assault (LaFASA)
  • Sharon Henry, Director of Outreach + Prevention for New Orleans Family Justice Center

TSSW shares information and resources with the community as an extension of our Elk Place Health Spot, and since the pandemic, we’ve been doing this virtually. These webinars are free and open to anyone that wants to learn, and we hope the information our panelists provide informs and inspires attendees toward action.
