Expert Advice: Researchers Track Spike in Intimate Partner Violence due to COVID-19

With regards to current research into the connection between COVID-19 and intimate partner violence, DRLA Director and Associate Professor Dr. Reggie Ferreira spoke to Gambit Weekly about research he is doing with Professor Dr. Fred Buttell.

“Due to associated stressors of COVID-19, such as financial strain and substance abuse, we can expect to see a significant increase in reported cases,” Ferreira said. “The biggest concern is if the needed resources to mitigate and address this issue will be available.”
